Sous Chef – ‘Wine & Sausage’, Corner House Hotel, Taunton, Somerset
£20-22,000 Live out OTE, depending on experience
The JOB:
Following the successful piloting of our ‘Wine & Sausage’ concept in Gloucestershire, we are now looking for a talented, experienced, passionate and focussed Sous Chef, for the launch of our second site, in Somerset, opening in October 2009.
We specialise in the great and simple British dishes that we grew up with. Ingredients are carefully sourced and wherever possible we use local and regional farmers, growers, fishermen, producers, brewers and even winemakers. Not just sausages, but the ‘lost’ British cuisine of Toad in the Hole, Beef Wellington, Crumble and good old custard.
We require a talented and equally passionate Sous Chef to produce simple British food in our 70 cover eating rooms, function room and bars. ‘Simple’, classic, fresh, seasonal and regional British food to a very high standard (Michelin Pub Guide, Sawdays ‘Special Places’, etc).
The ‘Wine & Sausage’ in Winchcombe, Gloucestershire, opened in 2006 and has gained an enviable reputation for personally sourced wines and the food, mentioned above. We are now opening a second site in one of our ‘sister’ hotels, the Corner House, in Taunton.

Applicants need to show experience in a high volume, high quality pub/restaurant kitchen and be an experienced Sous Chef or very promising Chef de Partie.
