Are you looking for an exciting challenge? Would you like to inspire people across the region to fundraise for Barnardo's?

We are looking for an enthusiastic and driven volunteer to organise a fun run on behalf of Barnardo’s, working with volunteers and professionals to create a professional and fun event that will attract people to support our charity.

Location:
Home based

Key activities:
- Work with our Community Fundraising Team to plan, organise and co-ordinate a fun run in the local area for 2010.
- Together with the Community Fundraiser, oversee the work of other volunteers and co-ordinate the work required to organise a successful event.
- Raise awareness of the work of Barnardo's in the South West through increased visibility of our event.
- Feedback on lessons learned for future events.
- This role is supported by a skilled and friendly fundraising team who are available to give advice and help at every stage.

Attitude/skills/knowledge required:
- Good overall communication skills (verbal, written and telephone)
- Presentation skills and the ability to vary presentation to suit different audiences
- Ability to speak to a variety of community groups with confidence and enthusiasm
- Ability to work on own initiative as well as part of a team.
