Audition days are now confirmed for entry in September 2010 to Cygnet Training Theatre- a Member of the Conference of Drama Schools- for our three year professional actor training course. The following will be available IF your application is received within good time of an up coming audition day.

Audition Guideline

At audition we ask you to perform two contrasting pieces about 3 minutes in length, prepared in advance. One should be Shakespeare and the other from a modern playwright (post 1950). You will be asked to take part in a workshop session with members of the present company and other audition candidates. You will be asked to sight read a piece of text and sing an unaccompanied song of your own choosing. A simple folk song or nursery rhyme will do very well.

Please note our audition days usually last until late afternoon.

WHAT IS CYGNET?

CYGNET is a COMPANY of ACTORS mostly between the ages of 18 - 35
chosen for their special qualities, who train and work as a PROFESSIONAL ENSEMBLE in the NEW THEATRE, Exeter where they develop their skills over a period of three years.

Auditions are held monthly from January to June for this three year vocational course.

Guided by PROFESSIONAL ACTORS, DIRECTORS and TEACHERS, the CYGNET COMPANY works continually on a varied programme of plays - Classical,Modern, and Musical, including new theatre works.
