Exeter sport / sport partners / sport teams
Learn a new sport, get fit, meet new people, have fun.
If you're aged between 18 and 45, looking to meet people in the Exeter area and enjoy sport, korfball could be the answer!
Korfball is a fast moving, mixed sport, kind of a cross between netball and basketball. It is friendly, non-sexist and is a game of teamwork, cooperation and skill, played by all kinds of people of all ages.
Exeter Korfball Club (www.exeterkorfball.co.uk) started in January 2003 and is currently looking for new players. We play in the South West Korfball league from October to April against teams from Bristol, Gloucester and Taunton. During the summer we play outdoor tournaments held both locally and further afield.
We train twice a week on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Tuesday training sessions are held from 6.30 to 8pm at Exeter School Sports Hall, Manston Terrace, Exeter; Thursday sessions are held from 7.30 to 8.30pm at Clifton Hill Leisure Centre, Belmont Road, Exeter. In the summer months, the Tuesday session is held outdoors on grass at the playing fields near the Double Locks from 7pm - 8.30pm. The Thursday session at Clifton Hill is all year round (excluding August when we all have a break!).
Your first 2 training sessions are FREE, so come along and give it a try. All training and equipment is provided, just bring sports kit and trainers.
Ring Lisa on 01392 202493 or email coach@exeterkorfball.co.uk for more details or just turn up to a training session and give it a go.
