We have a challenging but very rewarding role for an HR professional who wants to act with a high degree of autonomy, work across the whole spectrum of HR and use their initiative and creativity to deliver results. Our client is a dynamic organisation who under the leadership of an accomplished Managing Director is looking to achieve further growth.

We are looking for an HR generalist with a sound knowledge of technical and legal HR issues who is also able to work at Board level and to think and act strategically. This role would ideally suit an HR Manager currently working in an SME environment looking for an new challenge, or an Assistant HR Manager or Senior HR Advisor who currently has a high level of responsibility and is ready to step up to HR Manager level.

Working with the Directors, your role will be to ensure that the HR function supports the needs and development of the business. This will include staff recruitment, learning and development and performance management.

You will need to have a pragmatic approach to HR, and be able to balance the needs of individuals and the business. You will need to be commercially aware with an interest in business and the way in which HR assists in the delivery of a company’s strategic aims. If given an overall objective, you will need to be able to identify how this would be achieved, the action and resources that it would take, and to advise the Directors accordingly. You would then need to be able to create an action plan from your recommendations and be responsible for delivering it.

You will need to be able to respond to situations in a measured way, understanding situations quickly and taking control of them to ensure that they are managed effectively. You will need to be CIPD qualified (or currently studying), and you will have to demonstrate a sound knowledge of HR with a proven operational track record.
