Learn to dance LeRoc in Taunton. Fun, social night with or without a partner

Want to meet new people and make new friends? Why not come along to The Royal British Legion and learn to dance LeRoc with Riviera LeRoc?

We run classes and social evenings every Monday and Wednesday at the Royal British legion, Mary Street, Taunton. 8pm - 11pm, £5 on the door.

Both nights are completely relaxed, friendly and suitable for all levels - including complete beginners!

The dance we teach on Mondays, Wednesdays is LeRoc which is a fusion of different styles such as Jive, Salsa, Blues, Tango, and Rock ‘n’ Roll. It is (or at least can be!) a lot slower than traditional Jive. It is danced in partners but if you don’t have a partner to bring, don’t worry – this is not a problem as we rotate the class anyway.

Every night is suitable for absolute beginners as we always assume no previous knowledge. We teach 4 moves per class which are broken down into a step by step format for you to learn. Each consecutive week, 2 new moves are added, and 2 old moves are dropped.

On average, approx 60 people attend Mondays and 60 people attend Wednesdays. However, this does vary quite a bit. Some weeks it's more, some weeks it's less.

You can wear whatever you are comfortable in but we do recommend layers as you are likely to get quite warm! Also, it is advisable to wear shoes as opposed to trainers as you will need to be able to spin and trainers can be quite sticky.

The best way to find out if it’s for you is to come along and try it.

Please don't be nervous about not knowing anyone. All of our classes are very friendly.
