Major importer and distributor of a wide range of internationally known brands seek an experienced Financial Controller with at least 5 years PQ experience in a commercial environment (not financial services or in practice), based in Exeter. Experience in retail and distribution would be an advantage.

The Company has an ambitious growth plan, has the support of a well funded and respected Group, and offers the candidate the opportunity to be part of a team managing exciting prospects.

Reporting to the CEO of the UK business, but with an independent direct line to the Group FD, the role includes:

- Leading a team of three (bookkeeper and credit controller + his/herself).
- Managing and forecasting cash flow.
- Producing management accounts and relevant KPI’s.
- Producing Annual financial statements for both Companies (not consolidated).
- Being the first point of contact on VAT, and Company Taxation matters.

Candidates should be able to:

- Work independently as well as collaboratively with other specialist managers in the team and have good communication skills.
- Use IT systems (not an IT technical requirement more a good understanding of relational databases, accounting software and IT infrastructure). Experience in software selection and implementation would be an advantage.
- Ability to take on Company secretarial role in time would be an advantage.

Excellent salary package of £40 -45K.
