Exeter general jobs
Cleaner/Ironer needed for 31-year old woman with a chronic illness.
Please provide CRB (if you have one) and references.
£7.50 per hour - cash.
Hours to be negotiated. Ideally about 6 hpw, but can be flexible. These hours may increase in time if both parties would like. It would be really useful if you were available the same day and times each week as much as possible.
Further info:
It is a small 1-bed flat in Sidwell Street. I have a chronic illness called ME/CFS. This is an invisible illness which you may know about. Some details are shown below but I can give you more info if we meet.
I can't really afford more than £7.50. I may be able to afford more after I have looked into certain schemes available to people with long-term sickness. We can discuss this when we meet.
The job would entail general cleaning and ironing. The cleaning can range from intensive if I've been really ill (so old washing up etc) to light. A willingness to use own initiative and tidy up and organise would be great. I need someone who doesn't ask what needs doing, but can see what needs doing (for example, having a look inside the microwave while doing the kitchen) and also who looks beyond the surface (are the tops of the cupboards dirty? Or are the extractor fans dirty?)
My illness means it can be fatiguing having to be on hand to answer questions. You may never notice this (the common "compliment" to ME suffererers is we look fine) but being aware of it is really helpful. If I am around while you are here, I will probably be trying desperately to study. I find concentration really hard, so I need someone who is mindful of my need for healthy periods of time without interaction. On other occassions you may find me very chatty - as you can see I need a Cleaner with Intuition!
Some info about ME.
‘Chronic Fatigue Syndrome / ME is defined as a condition that involves a severe fatigue that usually has a clear starting point, often after a bout of illness, and that doesn't improve after rest. It makes you less able to cope with levels of activity in your work, school or social life that were previously normal for you. CFS/ME isn't the result of over-exercising. Even normal physical activity may make you feel very tired.
Common symptoms of CFS/ME include:
* muscle and joint pain, but with no swelling
* fatigue that lasts more than 24 hours after exercise or exertion at a level that you usually used to be able to manage without feeling tired
* forgetfulness, memory loss, confusion, or difficulty concentrating
* sleep disturbances - waking up feeling tired or unrested or having trouble getting to sleep
* flu-like symptoms, palpitations, feeling faint or problems with balance, headaches, mood swings’
