Full time Assistant Sommelier required for one of the UK's top luxury hotels

Our client, one of the top luxury hotels in the UK, require a personable, proficient Assistant Sommelier to join their team.

The position is available immediately and is full time.

WHAT THE CLIENT IS LOOKING FOR
You will come from a Michelin star or 3 star rosette restaurant background (or equivalent). You will have good global wine knowledge and will assist the Head Sommelier in managing a wine list of 1100+ bins.

Part of a team of 3 sommeliers, you will be responsible for running the wine operation in the Head Sommelier’s absence and will be a senior member of the hotel’s food and beverage team.

Your main duties will involve assisting the hotel’s guests in their beverage choices, monitoring the hotel’s wine inventory and ordering where required, and supporting the junior member of the team.

The hotel is a multi awarding winning business, and is situated in an area of outstanding natural beauty.

THE SALARY
The salary is £16,500 gross per annum + tips (typically an additional minimum of £1920 per annum) + heavily subsidised live-in accommodation (if taken) + free staff food (7 days a week).

Subject to review, the hotel is also prepared to pay for your wine education up to WSET diploma level (if this qualification has not yet been attained), after the completion of 2 year’s successful service.
